The Granny Square

Oh, the beauty of the simple granny square. It is funny for me to look back at how I use to not find it that appealing. I think that is just because I was not fond of the color schemes I first saw granny squares in. But since I have started crocheting again, I love granny squares. They have this wonderful "shabby chic" quality to them. I find myself looking up different motifs and color schemes on Google image search for hours if I am not careful with my time.
I guess the reason why I am a little excited is that I have a lot of extra yarn left over from some projects that I plan on using for a granny square afghan. Yay! :)

Another project I am excited about is a new market bag I plan on making. Here is the first hexagon I made for it. I am loving these colors!

Trying to Keep up

I was commissioned by a close family friend to crochet a baby blanket for her new born grandson. She purchased the yarn for me and I started working on the squares a couple of weeks ago. I am liking how it is turning out so far.

I am currently working on opening an Etsy store. I am working on making some inventory, but am finding it difficult to work on that while working on other projects for friends. Oh well.
At least I have one items half way done for the store.

Another Clutch

I finished this clutch for my cousin the other day. I used the same pattern as the one I posted about a couple of weeks back. This time I made it slightly smaller than my previous one.
(I apologize for the blurry photos).

Collage

I have a few projects that are in the works at the moment that I plan on posting once I finish them. But until then, I made a collage of the stuffed animals.

Shipped & Delivered

To make a very long story extremely short; my mom was found by her long lost sister a few months ago. She and her family came to visit us a couple of weeks ago. We all had a wonderful time.
I had hoped to have finished crocheting some animals for her grandchildren before they left, but alas, we were too busy catching up and enjoying each other's company for me to do so.
I finally finished the animals for my "new" little cousins last week. We shipped them, and then got word on Friday that they had made it safely to their new homes.

Slouchy Beanie

I found this pattern on Ravelry the other day. But what really got me excited is the colors of the yarn I found.
The other day, when I was shopping at AC Moore, I found a basket of yarn priced at $1.00. I saw a variegated skein that caught my attention. Since it was so cheap I bought only two skeins to try on a little project.
It took just less than the two skeins to finish the hat, and I am very satisfied with it.

Purse/Clutch

I found the pattern to this clutch on Lion Brand Yarn's site. Instead of using the yarn I purchased some Sugar'n Cream in colors that caught my eye.

I tried using all five, but it seemed like too much. In the end I used the violet, peach and white.

The brown floral fabric is what I plan on making the lining out of. This clutch is 11"x7", a little larger than I would prefer. I plan to make some more in smaller sizes, one in the denim blue and one in black.

Crochet Stripes

I still have projects I am planning on posting. There are just some finishing touches needed.
There is a new technique I learn recently that I am excited about. It helps make perfect stripes when crocheting in the round.
Check it out! Planet June
