Pearls & Teddy Bears are a Girl's Best Friend

The teddy bear that I posted earlier was a project that was comissioned by my brother. Today is his and his girlfriend's six month anniversary. Mom gave him the idea that he should present the pearl earrings he bought her in the ears of a teddy bear that I crochet. So he asked me, and I got to work.
Today I added the last finishing touches to Miss Teddy; a small crochet flower with a shinny button on her ear. So cute!

I am so excited to see how cute this will be on the teddy!

Miss Teddy with the earrings.
She is ready!

How sweet is this?

Garden Patch Granny Afghan

A few months ago I started going to Lion Brand Yarn's website. It has a great selection of free crochet patterns.
One of the patterns from the site that I have added to my "crochet bucket list" is the Garden Patch Granny Afghan.

I love this! I think it is beautiful.

To make a piece of needlework by looping thread with a hooked needle.

I was introduced to crochet by my mother and grandmother many years ago. I made a couple of scarfs and afghans, all with very simple stitches and designs. I lost interest in crocheting and didn't try it again for many years.
I went through a rough period that was filled with anxiety. In a attempt to find a way to distract my sad and anxious brain from unhealthy thinking I started to crochet again. It was something that I could do to keep me busy during any down time. I enjoyed working on and finishing different projects. There is a unique pleasure in creating something with your hands.
The purpose of this blog is to document and share my little crafts with others and, hopefully, to learn other designs and tricks from any of you out there willing to share with me.
