Instagram Photos

I am very thankful that there are still plenty of fall covers hanging around. I know once they are gone they will be missed.
I can't believe Thanksgiving is only a week away! I don't understand how time moves so quickly.
Well, in crochet news; I found a very simple bow pattern on bobwilson123's YouTube channel. You can watch the video here. As you can see in the picture I posted at the top, I put the bow on a teddy bear. I think was a cute little touch.
Have a blessed day!

25 squares down.. 77 to go?

Slowly, but surely, there has been some progress made on my afghan. If I stick to my original plan, I am a third of the way finish. But I will play it by ear.
Have a wonderful and blessed weekend!

A Month of Thanks

Can you believe we have reached November? I don't know why I am always shock at how quickly it arrives every year. Everyone talks about how time flies everyday.
But I do love this time of year. I love the crispness in the air, the clear skies, and of course the wonderful colors. Another reason I love this season is because of Thanksgiving. It is one of my favorite Holidays. I love food and fellowship. And it is wonderful to dedicate a day to remembering what we are thankful for. I should keep this mindset year round, but unfortunately I do have to be reminded.
I know I felt thankful this morning. My alarm sounded off and I awoke slightly confused due to it still being so dark and cold this morning. I pushed snooze, as always, and cuddled close to my little dog, Owen. I definitely know it is cold because he is snuggled up to me much closer and harder than usual. It crosses my mind how blessed I am to have a cosy, warm bed to sleep in. I am thankful for the love I have for my friends and family, and the love they have for me. I realize that I am without a need. And most of all, I am thankful for Christ and what he did for me.
Here are some photos from the past week or two:

I hope everyone has a wonderful November. What are you thankful for?
God bless!

WorldCrafts

Last weekend my church sponsored the organization WorldCrafts by allowing the group to sell some of their items in our building.

Here  are a couple of video's about the organization:

I think this is a wonderful way to help families all over the world. God bless these artisans and the ones helping them sell their work.

Some new totes...

These are the totes I finished. I just need to add linings to the both of them & they will be complete. I love the colors. My plan is to sell the hexagon market bag. I am still not sure if I will sell the chevron bag yet.
I hope you all have a wonderful & blessed day!

p.s. You can find both of these patterns on Lion Brand Yarn's website.

Photography for the week

Made from scratch chocolate cookies, a rainbow tote bag in the works, my brother, Jordan's, doodles on his math notes & Owen, our maltipoo, waking up this morning; these are just a few things I have enjoyed this week. Hopefully there will be a lot more to enjoy this weekend.
I hope you enjoy your weekend.
God Bless,

cross stitch cowl

I finished my cowl the other day. When I awoke this morning I was happy to feel enough chill in the air that would justify wearing it today.
I used Vanna's choice Dusty Green acrylic yarn. I really happy with how this yarn worked with the crossed double crochet stitch.

Enjoy the Fall season!
God bless you,

Granny Square Afghan Progress

I am getting excited! I am planning on making the afghan 11x7 squares.  I still haven't decided whether I will try and sell this or keep it for myself :)

Fingerless Mittens

I am loving my new fingerless mittens! They are so pretty and colorful. I plan on listing them on my Etsy Store as soon as I get it up and running. I got the pattern out of the book Crochet Designs: 25 must-have items to make by Tess Dawson.

The quintessential "holding a mug with mittens" pose

I can't wait to start wearing some of my crochet items, but it is still pretty warm in North Carolina. Bummer :( But when I checked, the prediction was that some Autumn-like weather is on its way.

Double crochet cross stitch

I have started what I think will be a cowl. I have some left over Vanna's Choice, and was looking through my patterns and stitches books and have decided to go with this double crochet cross stitch.

This was taken quickly with my phone, so apologies for the poor quality.
I'll be taken some better photos with my camera.

I hope you are having a blessed day!

Autumn

I woke up to a cool, rainy day this morning. I am excited about the season change. One thing about living in this part of the south east is that our autumn is very mild or nonexistent. We can have hot weather until November, then when the weather is mild enough to enjoy, all of the beautiful leafs have fallen and all the trees look barren and dead. But maybe it will be different this year.
Fall, of course, is very crochet friendly.  I have been looking at some crochet images for some fall accessory ideas.

Have a blessed day,

Finished Blanket

I finished the commissioned baby blanket. I found this pattern on bernat.com. The pattern is listed as,  Baby Coordinates - Gingham Blanket (crochet). You must sign up for the website to view patterns, but they have many free patterns. I had found plenty of patterns I am wanting to try.
I ran out of yarn, so I was unable to follow the dimensions  of the pattern, but I am happy with the way it turn out.

Have a blessed day!

afghan; in the works

I have been slowly crocheting some granny squares from some extra yarn I have. My plans are to make an afghan, either to sell or to keep for myself. I guess I will make up my mind once I finish it.

Do I need any of these????

As I have searched the web for various patterns and ideas, these are some books that keep popping up. I need to do more research on these book to see if they would be useful to me (even if they would not be very useful I still think the covers are pretty :)).

If there is anyone out there with an opinion, I would love to hear it!
Have a blessed day!
