Finished Blanket

I finished the commissioned baby blanket. I found this pattern on bernat.com. The pattern is listed as,  Baby Coordinates - Gingham Blanket (crochet). You must sign up for the website to view patterns, but they have many free patterns. I had found plenty of patterns I am wanting to try.
I ran out of yarn, so I was unable to follow the dimensions  of the pattern, but I am happy with the way it turn out.

afghan; in the works

I have been slowly crocheting some granny squares from some extra yarn I have. My plans are to make an afghan, either to sell or to keep for myself. I guess I will make up my mind once I finish it.

Do I need any of these????

As I have searched the web for various patterns and ideas, these are some books that keep popping up. I need to do more research on these book to see if they would be useful to me (even if they would not be very useful I still think the covers are pretty :)).



If there is anyone out there with an opinion, I would love to hear it!

Mountains & Crochet

Saturday my mom and I spent a few hours visiting my aunt and family at their vacation spot in the mountains.
I brought along some yarn, and did what I do, and took in the view.

Blanket Progress

 

I just sewed a square for the baby blanket for a family friend's grandson. I still have more granny squares to crochet, but I wanted to get a feel for how the finished product will turn out.

Colorful Yarn :)

There is something about picking a new yarn. Especially one that is very colorful and variegated.  I purchased this new Patons Kroy Socks Stripes in Sporty Stripes. I get excited with new yarn because you never know how the end product will turn out. I decided to use the yarn for a fingerless mittens pattern I have. I am very happy with how the first mitten has turned out so far. I still need to weave in the ends and sew on a button but I think it looks pretty cool.

Two Teddys Trip to Iowa

I made two more teddy bears for my two other "new", little cousins in Iowa. I decided to chronicle their journey from North Carolina to the North West. The girls were very excited about the bears, which tickles me.
